Winery – Apollonio: established in 1870 thanks to the efforts of Noè Apollonio, who in the Lower Salento region decided to start his own winemaking history. Noè vinifies and sells a wine made in Salento that in the first decades of the 1900s was considered perfect by winemakers in northern Italy to “cut” their lots. It wasn’t until the 1970s, with the third generation of the family, that the company’s image was turned around and it began bottling higher quality wines based on modernization of machinery and equipment. Today, with the fourth family generation, Apollonio is present in more than 35 countries around the world, becoming one of the most convincing wineries in all of Apulia.
